Opposed
This trick uses an [Opposed] roll to determine the outcome instead of the standard resolution process.
The target of the trick rolls first.
- If the target is an NPC, the GM rolls 2d10 and adds the NPC's [Threat] bonus.
- If the target is a player-character, the player rolls 2d10 and adds their bonuses.
The target's roll sets the Difficulty Level for the trick. Match the roll to the Difficulty Level chart to determine the DL to use to for the trick. For example, if the target rolls a 15, that translates to Moderate (14) DL because its range is 14 to 19.
| Difficulty Level | DL Range |
|---|---|
| Extreme (32) | 32 - 37 |
| Severe (26) | 26 - 31 |
| Hard (20) | 20 - 25 |
| Moderate (14) | 14 - 19 |
| Easy (8) | 8 - 13 |
Once the target's roll has determined the Difficulty Level of the trick, the character who initiated the trick rolls and resolves it as normal.
